Emma Sinclair, once celebrated as the youngest person in Britain to take a company public at age 29 and a columnist known as "Wonder Woman," is now embroiled in a significant financial feud with her brother, James Sinclair, concerning their technology business, EnterpriseJungle.

The dispute centers on approximately £4.5 million that James Sinclair claims is owed to him for his shares in the company. A High Court judge in London has observed "deep bad feeling" between the siblings, and has questioned whether James's actions were motivated by a desire to cause his sister personal distress, rather than solely to recoup the funds.

James Sinclair, a technology entrepreneur based in California, was removed as a director of EnterpriseJungle and dismissed in 2021. An agreement was later reached for Emma to purchase his five million shares, with payments to be made over several years. When these payments were delayed, James pursued the outstanding amount through the Californian courts, where he was awarded approximately £2.3 million in January. Emma and the company appealed this decision, while James sought to enforce the judgment in London.

Thomas Raphael KC, sitting as a deputy High Court judge, noted that the legal battle had been conducted with little regard for escalating costs, fueled in part by the animosity between the siblings. He criticized James's approach to challenging Emma's financial evidence as "very aggressive."

Emma Sinclair expressed concerns that an immediate repayment order could force her to sell company shares at a reduced price, potentially jeopardizing her control of the business. The judge has suspended immediate enforcement, contingent on further payments being made. Emma has proposed paying approximately £1.7 million by February.

Despite these arrangements, James Sinclair has successfully established his right to enforce the Californian judgment in England. The siblings are awaiting the outcome of their appeals in California.
