The wives and partners of the England national football team, often referred to as WAGs, were seen enjoying a night out in New York City, reportedly attending a nightclub until 2 a.m. just hours before the team's final group game against Panama. Among those present were Ellie Watkins, wife of player Ollie Watkins, and Ashlyn Castro, girlfriend of Jude Bellingham.

The group reportedly arrived at the New York venue, Maison Close, in two limos and were accompanied by security. Ollie Watkins' wife Ellie, 30, was seen with her sister Sophia Alderson, while Bellingham's partner Ashlyn Castro documented her preparations for a 'girls night' on social media.

Castro described her attire for the evening, which included Versace jeans and a sheer Roberto Cavalli top. Watkins opted for jeans and a light blue top. A bouncer at the club stated that there were about a dozen women, identified as wives and girlfriends of the English soccer team, who were singing and dancing. The group spent nearly four hours at Maison Close, a venue that describes itself as offering an elevated dining and beverage experience.

This outing contrasts with the WAG culture of previous years, such as the 2006 World Cup in Germany, which was characterized by extensive partying and shopping. The current generation of WAGs are noted for being more low-key and active on social media, often sharing fashion and lifestyle content.

Other WAGs in New York include Olivia, wife of John Stones, and Tolami Benson, girlfriend of Bukayo Saka. Some members of the group had also previously visited another New York night spot, Somewhere Nowhere.

England went on to win their match against Panama 2-0. The team's next match is a knockout stage game against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
