England striker Ivan Toney appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday to face an allegation of assaulting a man at a central London nightclub.

Toney, 30, is accused of attacking Saber Da Silva at a venue on Wardour Street in Soho on December 6. He was charged on July 31 following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The footballer arrived at court shortly after 9:30 a.m., accompanied by three members of his entourage. His hearing was scheduled for 10 a.m. Toney has previously denied the allegation, with a spokesperson stating, "Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court."

Toney, who has 10 international appearances and one goal for England, was part of the squad for the recent World Cup. He did not feature in the latest England squad for four Nations League ties.

He began his career at Northampton Town before playing for clubs including Wigan Athletic and Peterborough United. Toney joined Brentford in 2020, scoring 72 goals over four years, before transferring to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli in 2024.
