England Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford Admits Careless Driving
Pickford's Lamborghini nearly caused a crash after he ignored a give way sign, a court heard.
England and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has pleaded guilty to a charge of driving without due care or attention after an incident in Knutsford on April 14. The court heard that Pickford, driving his £200,000 Lamborghini Urus, ignored a give way sign, forcing two other vehicles to brake sharply to avoid a collision.
According to PC Cecil Ricardo of Cheshire Police, the incident occurred as he was leaving the station. He observed Pickford's blue Lamborghini with personalized number plates on Bexton Road. The vehicle then proceeded along Princess Street, reaching the junction with Toft Road where it "completely ignored the give way lines." This action caused two vehicles to brake suddenly to prevent an accident. The Lamborghini then accelerated away down Toft Road.
Pickford, who has made 336 appearances for Everton and earned 92 caps for England, is scheduled to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on December 7 for sentencing.
