England Footballer John Stones Fined for Speeding and Phone Use

England and Inter Milan defender John Stones has been fined and received penalty points on his license for speeding and using a mobile phone while driving his £150,000 Range Rover. The offenses occurred in May near his home in Knutsford, Cheshire.

Stones, 32, pleaded guilty to exceeding 30 mph on a restricted road. He was issued four penalty points by magistrates in Warrington, who also imposed a fine of £666. Additionally, Stones was ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge totaling £386.

The incident occurred the day before his team's 3-0 victory over Brentford last season. Stones was reportedly caught by officers using a hand-held device.

Stones moved to Inter Milan in the summer, signing a two-year deal after a decade with Manchester City. During his time at the Etihad Stadium, he contributed to six Premier League titles, a Champions League, two FA Cups, and five League Cups. He previously played for Barnsley and Everton. Stones scored on his debut for Inter Milan but later sustained an injury.

The experienced center-back has faced several injuries in recent years, with his latest issue affecting his thigh. This setback has kept him out of the current England squad.

Stones was a member of the England squad that finished third in the World Cup, starting in the quarter-final win against Norway and the semi-final defeat to Argentina. He has expressed no desire to retire from international football and remains highly regarded by the England manager, potentially looking towards Euro 2028.
