Football fans Danny Williams and Joe Gallagher, from Scarborough, North Yorkshire, have become popular figures among the travelling England supporters during the World Cup. Their distinctive flag, showcasing their hometown, has garnered positive attention in Dallas and Boston, where England played their initial group games.

Williams, 34, stated that the flag "had a good reception." Both fans expressed enjoyment during their time supporting the national team. Gallagher, 35, indicated that their only regret was not extending their stay, noting that they "have all been taken in so well."

Despite some uncertainty about North American interest in the tournament and potential sentiments towards certain nations, Williams, a highways worker, described the locals as "friendly and definitely up for the banter." He added that "America is beautiful, we have had half-decent results and everything has been amazing."

The pair, who frequently follow the England team, acknowledged their desire to attend the final. However, they found the quoted ticket price of £3,000 each to be prohibitive. Gallagher, a police officer, remarked that "you could take the whole family to Barbados for that price."
