Enes Kanter Freedom was removed from Wintrust Arena by security personnel during the third quarter of a WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The ejection followed a verbal altercation between Freedom, who was seated courtside, and Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud.

During a third-quarter timeout with the Fever leading 81-75, Cloud reportedly began shouting toward Freedom. Freedom responded and stepped toward the court, prompting security to intervene and escort him from the arena amidst booing from the crowd. Freedom, who played 11 seasons in the NBA, later posted on X, formerly Twitter, stating he was "kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN!" He also added, "It’s always women hating on other women."

Freedom had been vocal leading up to and during the game. He arrived wearing a shirt printed with the definition of "woman." At halftime, he posted a photo from outside an arena restroom with the caption, "It’s halftime and I need to use the restroom… Rules are rules @WNBA." Earlier, Freedom was involved in a confrontation outside the arena with fans, which required security to form a protective barrier around him. He posted a video of this encounter, writing, "We are getting attacked before the @WNBA game in Chicago."

The Chicago Sky defeated the Indiana Fever 113-90 in the game. Requests for comment sent to the Chicago Sky and Wintrust Arena management were not immediately returned. Freedom has been a vocal critic of WNBA policies, particularly concerning gender and inclusion.
