Enes Kanter Defies Death Threats Ahead of WNBA Finals Game 3

Enes Kanter has publicly shared death threats he says he has received in relation to his attendance at Game 3 of the WNBA Finals in Atlanta. Kanter posted a video compilation of the threats on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, stating, “I heard y’all loud and clear. Let me remind y’all one thing, I fear God and God alone. See y’all tomorrow… @WNBA.”

The series is tied 1-1, with the Atlanta Dream having defeated the Golden State Valkyries 79-65 in Game 2. The Finals are now heading to Atlanta for the next two games.

Kanter has become a vocal figure in the debate surrounding transgender athletes in women's sports. He previously stated that he is eligible for the 2027 WNBA draft, arguing that the league has not adequately defined what a woman is. Kanter has vowed to serve as a spokesperson for women in sports.

Kanter's previous WNBA game attendance resulted in his ejection. In August, he was removed from a game between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever at Wintrust Arena following a verbal exchange with Sky guard Natasha Cloud. This incident led to Kanter being banned from all Sky home games. He has since filed a federal lawsuit alleging mistreatment.

Kanter's presence at Game 3 of the WNBA Finals is anticipated to be a point of discussion and potential contention.
