For nearly 20 years, Megan's severe pain was repeatedly attributed to common ailments such as urinary tract infections or muscle strain. Her symptoms, which began around puberty, were often dismissed, leaving her to endure agonizing discomfort for two decades.

It was only after an urgent referral to oncology and a biopsy that Megan finally received a diagnosis of Stage 4 endometriosis, the most severe and advanced form of the disease. The discovery came after doctors identified three 'massive' growths.

Despite the challenges, Megan eventually conceived with the help of a sperm donor. She carried her son, Jack, while her partner, Harriet, carried their daughter, Betty.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and other symptoms. Stage 4 is the most severe form and can involve deep infiltrating endometriosis, adhesions, and organ involvement.
