The Emmy Awards are facing criticism for omitting action star Chuck Norris from their televised “In Memoriam” segment. Norris, known for his roles in martial arts films and the long-running television series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” died at age 86 in March.
While the Emmys' "In Memoriam" segment honored many industry figures, Norris was reportedly not included in the broadcast portion. However, a check of the Television Academy's official "In Memoriam" webpage shows Norris is listed, though he may require scrolling to find.
Other notable figures reportedly not included in the televised segment, according to Deadline, include Nicholas Brendon, known for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and actor Patrick Muldoon of “Melrose Place,” along with game show star Jaye P. Morgan. These individuals also appear on the Emmys' web-based tribute.
The broadcast segment featured tributes to figures like Rob Reiner and Catherine O’Hara. HuffPost reached out to the Emmys for comment.
