Emma Thynn Recreates Kate Moss's Iconic 'Naked Dress' at Tate Britain Exhibition Opening

Emma Thynn, the Marchioness of Bath, paid homage to a legendary fashion moment by wearing a replica of Kate Moss's iconic "naked dress" to the opening of "The 90s: Art and Fashion" exhibition at Tate Britain. Thynn, 40, sported the sheer, Liza Bruce-designed slip dress, a garment famously worn by Moss in 1993 to the Elite Model Agency's Look of the Year party.

Moss, 52, has previously spoken about the dress, revealing that she was unaware of its transparency until she saw photographs of herself in the newspaper the following day. "It was the flash that made it look naked," Moss recalled. "When I was wearing it, I didn't think it was that see-through, but obviously, it was."

The "The 90s: Art and Fashion" exhibition, curated by former British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, celebrates photography, fashion, and art from the decade. The exhibition features works by artists such as Steve McQueen, Damien Hirst, and Sarah Lucas, alongside iconic photography from Juergen Teller and Corinne Day, and designs by Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, and John Galliano.

Thynn posed in front of a photograph of Moss wearing the original dress, showcasing her figure in the sheer garment and her black underwear beneath. Other notable attendees at the exhibition launch included Poppy Delevingne, Donatella Versace, Damian Hurley, and Brooks Nader. The exhibition is scheduled to run from October 8, 2026, to February 13, 2027.

Emma Thynn showed off her incredible figure in the sheer outfit.

While Moss herself did not attend the Tate Britain event, she has been active on the fashion circuit, recently attending Paris Fashion Week shows, including Tom Ford and Saint Laurent. At the Saint Laurent after-party celebrating her daughter Lila's birthday, Moss was seen in an Eighties-style dress, while Lila opted for a minidress with sheer black stockings.
