Emma Thompson Films Dramatic Scenes for Apple TV Series
The Oscar-winning actress was spotted in gritty action sequences for "Down Cemetery Road" by London's Regent's Canal.
Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson has been filmed in intense action scenes for the second series of Apple TV's thriller "Down Cemetery Road." Thompson, 67, was seen portraying a private investigator, hiding beneath an upturned kayak and clinging to the edge of Regent's Canal in London.
During filming, Thompson, wearing a black leather coat, grey t-shirt, blue jeans, and heavy boots, was pictured sprawled on the ground with a green boat resting on top of her. She was also seen clinging to the canal's concrete edge and dropping to her knees with her arms outstretched.
The scenes appeared to depict her character, Zoe Boehm, escaping from a man dressed in black. Crew members, including her stunt double in an identical outfit and wig, assisted Thompson.
"Down Cemetery Road," written by Mick Herron, premiered last October. The first series followed Boehm and art conservator Sarah Trafford, played by Ruth Wilson, as they investigated a disappearance in Oxford. The upcoming second series is based on Herron's novels "The Last Voice You Hear" and "Smoke And Whispers." It reportedly begins with a woman falling in front of a train, leading Boehm and Trafford into the black market for art and antiquities, where they encounter a serial killer.
Apple recently announced that Martin Clunes and Amanda Abbington have joined the cast for the second series.
