Elon Musk responded sharply to criticism from chef and humanitarian José Andrés after Andrés offered advice following an interview where Musk appeared testy. Andrés had suggested Musk "drink a glass of water before you tweet" and stated that calling a journalist an "enemy to humanity" was unwarranted.

During a recent interview with The Economist, Musk became defensive when asked about his perceived alignment with far-right figures. He stated, "No, I support the normal people. What you call the far right, falsely." This interview was released on Thursday.

Andrés, who previously co-chaired the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition under the Biden administration, shared his thoughts on Musk's exchange via social media. He advised Musk, "You sound and act like a tyrant….change!"

Musk's reaction to Andrés' mild criticism drew comparisons to former President Donald Trump. Online reactions largely sided with Andrés, with some users pointing out the contrast between Musk's public statements and the humanitarian work of Andrés and others. One user noted, "MacKenzie Scott gives away billions. José Andrés feeds people. You tweet insults. Funny how the people actually making the world better always seem to bother you the most."
