Ellie Taylor was seen on a solo outing in London on Saturday, her first public appearance since reports surfaced that she is slated to host the BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two." The comedian, 42, was photographed arriving at a BBC radio studio dressed in denim shorts, a striped white shirt, and ballet pumps.
Taylor's appearance comes amid speculation that she will replace Fleur East and Janette Manrara as the host of the "Strictly Come Dancing" spin-off series. This potential role could represent a significant career advancement for Taylor.
Reports suggest Taylor, who competed on "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2022 alongside professional dancer Johannes Radebe, was a popular choice among viewers and the production team. While she was considered for a main show hosting position, she remained a candidate for "It Takes Two," which is reportedly undergoing a revamp.
A source indicated to The Sun that Taylor's "infectious personality" was a hit with the senior production team. "They were very keen to get her on It Takes Two which they felt was too boring and needed a major revamp. So she's been hired for the It Takes Two hosting job," the source stated.
Representatives for Taylor and the BBC have been contacted for comment. The news follows "Strictly's" recent announcement of five new professional dancers joining the show for its September return. The new professionals, Aleksandra Isaeva, Cristian Priori, Lethabo Monametsi, Maddie Ingoldsby, and Mark Karmalita, will debut alongside a roster of returning dancers. This expansion comes after several professional dancers were removed from the lineup earlier in the year, with a focus reportedly placed on dancers with larger social media followings to attract a younger audience.
