Netflix's lead sports host Elle Duncan drew attention for her fashion choice during her NFL hosting debut on Thursday night, covering the 49ers-Rams game from Australia.

Duncan, who left ESPN late last year to become Netflix's primary sports presenter, donned black gloves for the broadcast. This outfit choice quickly became a topic of discussion on social media.

Fans shared a range of reactions online. Some users questioned her decision to wear gloves with a sleeveless outfit, with one commenter stating, "Why in the world is Elle Duncan wearing gloves for NFL Netflix game She looks absolutely ridiculous." Another user compared her gloves to those worn by O.J. Simpson.

Despite the criticism, other viewers expressed positive sentiments about seeing Duncan on screen. One user commented, "Elle Duncan on Netflix is one of the great current sports presenters."

Duncan's move to Netflix in December followed nearly a decade at ESPN. Since joining the streaming service, she has hosted a variety of sporting events, including baseball, boxing, and a free-solo climb of Taipei 101 by Alex Honnold. She also covered MLB's Home Run Derby and the 2026 Field of Dreams Game.

Duncan had previously shared her enthusiasm for her upcoming NFL assignment, stating on X earlier in the week, "From the moment I started covering sports, it’s been a dream to be a part of the NFL…that dream is about to become a reality."
