Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" has achieved a significant milestone, holding the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 for 15 consecutive weeks. This accomplishment sets a new record for non-holiday titles by solo female artists.
According to Billboard, the song's extended run at the top makes it the longest-charting non-holiday song by a woman with no co-billed acts. The only song with more weeks at number one, regardless of qualifiers, is Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which has spent a total of 22 weeks atop the charts over its history. Langley's hit now trails Carey's holiday classic by just seven weeks.
Langley, 27, discussed building momentum toward her sophomore album during coverage tied to the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The release of "Choosin' Texas" has been described as an "explosive moment" in what has been a banner year for the singer.
Earlier in 2026, Langley also held the top two album spots in America for the first half of the year, sharing this success with fellow artist Morgan Wallen. Langley reportedly dropped out of Auburn University to pursue her music career in Nashville.
