Ella Beatty, Daughter of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, Stars in New Netflix Series

Ella Beatty, daughter of Hollywood power couple Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, recently stepped into the spotlight for the premiere of her new Netflix series, "Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story," in New York. The 26-year-old actress plays the acquitted murder suspect Lizzie Borden in the anthology series.

Beatty, the youngest of Beatty and Bening's children, attended the premiere in a figure-hugging black gown. She acknowledged the inherent advantages of her family background, telling Vogue, "I totally acknowledge that there is an inherent privilege and exposure that comes from having well-known actors as parents." She expressed a hope to "offer something meaningful."

Growing up on film sets and in dressing rooms, Beatty stated that acting was a natural career path. "I don't know anything else. I have no other context for the world," she said of her upbringing. Her parents, she noted, are "the most loving, supportive, incredible artists" who taught her to view the world through an artistic lens from a young age.

Beatty pursued her passion through community theater productions before attending The Juilliard School, where she graduated in 2022. Her early career includes a role in the FX anthology series "Feud: Capote v The Swans" and a Broadway debut in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' play "Appropriate." She also appeared in the A24 film "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You."

In "Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story," Beatty will portray Borden, who was accused of murdering her parents in 1892. "It has been a dream come true to investigate this complicated person's psychology and to examine an American crime that feels almost mythic in proportion," Beatty said of her role. Co-creator Ian Brennan noted that Beatty's casting felt right due to her ability to convey a sense of innocence and inscrutability, drawing a comparison to the famous daguerreotype of Lizzie Borden.

The series is set to premiere on Netflix on September 17.
