Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus Navigate Blended Family Life Amid Engagement Rumors

Elizabeth Hurley has shared insights into her blended family life with boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus, noting that their transition into 'empty nesters' has made their dynamic work well. Hurley, 61, is mother to 24-year-old Damian, while Cyrus, 65, has six children from previous relationships, including singer Miley Cyrus, 33.

'It works very well, I think,' Hurley said on the 'Off Air with Jane & Fi' podcast. She reflected on the past, when children were younger and juggling school runs and holidays required significant effort. Now, with all their children independent, including Damian as the youngest, the situation has become easier.

Hurley recalled a previous relationship with the late Shane Warne, who also had children around the same age as Damian. She described the current situation as 'more grown up and it’s easier' but admitted to sometimes missing the hands-on aspects of parenting younger children, though not the logistical challenges.

Cyrus and Hurley's relationship became public on Easter 2025. Earlier this month, Hurley fueled engagement rumors by posting a photo on Instagram showcasing a prominent diamond ring on her left hand. Her son Damian commented on the post with enthusiastic emojis, and Cyrus shared a cryptic social media message that some interpreted as a nod to their potential engagement.

Page Six reported that sources confirmed an engagement, although official representatives for the couple have not yet commented. An insider told the outlet that the ring was unlikely to be a prop for Hurley's filming schedule.

If engaged, this would be Cyrus's fourth marriage and Hurley's second. Hurley was previously married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar from 2007 to 2011 and was engaged to Australian cricketer Shane Warne from 2011 to 2013. She also has a past relationship with film producer Steve Bing, with whom she had Damian.

Hurley and Cyrus met while working on the 2022 film 'Christmas In Paradise' and began dating in early 2025. Hurley previously told SheerLuxe podcast that they share many similarities, including having lived out of suitcases for much of their lives and having moved out of cities long ago.

The timing of the apparent engagement news comes as Cyrus faces controversy regarding his previous marriage to singer Firerose, who has accused him of emotional abuse.
