Elizabeth Holmes' Partner Speaks Out on Feud with Nathan Fielder, Her Prison Struggles
Billy Evans discusses his relationship with the Theranos founder, her pain while incarcerated, and a public dispute with comedian Nathan Fielder.
Billy Evans, the partner of convicted Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and father of her two children, has broken his silence in a rare interview detailing his life with Holmes, her pain during her incarceration, and a public disagreement with comedian Nathan Fielder.
Evans described a feud with Fielder, whom he referred to as the "worst filmmaker on Earth." The nature of this dispute and its origins were not fully elaborated upon but occurred as Holmes was preparing to serve her prison sentence.
Holmes, 42, was convicted of defrauding investors in 2022 and sentenced to more than 11 years in prison. She is currently serving her time at a minimum-security federal prison in Bryan, Texas. Her children believe that "Mommy is at work."
Evans stated that for Holmes, missing out on being with her family is incredibly difficult. Since her imprisonment, she writes to Evans and their children every day.
He also expressed his respect for parents raising their children alone.
Evans described their relationship as a genuine love story. He met Holmes in 2017 at an event, despite having read about her and Theranos in the news. At the time Theranos was already under investigation, and Holmes's career had imploded.
Evans' friends were initially skeptical of the relationship, noting that he came from a prosperous family and could have pursued easier paths.
"For me, it is simple," Billy says. "You find someone you love; you want to have children together."
Evans continues to fight Holmes' conviction on a daily basis.
