Elizabeth Holmes Documentary ‘You Can See Everything’ Exceeds Box Office Expectations
The film chronicling Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes's final weeks before prison is drawing crowds and generating significant revenue.
The documentary film “You Can See Everything,” directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, has achieved substantial success at the box office, grossing $15 million in its opening weekend and exceeding its estimated $7 million production budget. The film follows Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the period leading up to her incarceration after being convicted of defrauding investors. Holmes has been a figure of public interest for years, amplified by the 2022 Hulu miniseries “The Dropout.”
Box Office Performance and Theatrical Run
Following its second week of wider release, the documentary’s profits more than doubled, bringing its domestic box office total to over $45 million. The film is currently playing in 2,655 theaters nationwide. While the exact duration of its theatrical run is not yet confirmed, industry projections suggest it will remain in most major theaters until mid-November 2026, with its presence likely diminishing by December.
Distributor A24 typically sees theatrical runs for its films average between three to five weeks. For instance, “The Invite” averaged 3.6 weeks, while the more commercially successful “Backrooms” had an average run of 5.7 weeks. Given “You Can See Everything’s” current performance, which surpasses “The Invite” but trails “Backrooms,” an estimated four-week run from its wide release on October 23 through November 22 is anticipated.
The final length of a film’s theatrical engagement is ultimately decided by individual cinema complexes, influenced by factors such as screen availability and competition from upcoming releases. With several major films scheduled for release in November, including during the Thanksgiving weekend, audiences are advised to see “You Can See Everything” sooner rather than later if they wish to watch it on the big screen.
Digital and Streaming Release Projections
“You Can See Everything” is expected to become available for digital purchase and rental around mid-to-late November 2026. Historically, A24 films often debut on premium video-on-demand platforms approximately one month after their theatrical premiere.
Furthermore, the film is slated to stream on HBO Max, as per a 2023 agreement between A24 and Warner Bros. Discovery, which includes all of A24’s theatrical releases on the streaming service. Early access to the film at home will depend on its availability for purchase or rent, or its debut on HBO Max.
Subscription options for HBO Max include a plan with ads for $10.99 per month and an ad-free version for $18.49 per month. Discounted bundles with Disney+ and Hulu are also available, starting at $19.99 per month with ads and $32.99 per month without ads.
The documentary may begin streaming on HBO Max around mid-February 2027. This projection is based on A24’s “Pay-1 deal” with Warner Bros. Discovery, which designates Max as the first streaming platform to acquire rights after the film’s home media release. If “You Can See Everything” follows a similar timeline to A24’s “The Drama,” which began streaming on HBO Max four months after its theatrical debut, a mid-February 2027 release is probable. However, if it mirrors “The Invite,” which arrived on HBO Max just three months after its theater opening, it could be available as early as mid-January 2027. These timelines remain speculative, as A24’s digital and streaming release patterns have varied.
For those eager to see the film immediately, “You Can See Everything” is currently available in U.S. theaters nationwide.
