Elizabeth Holmes Documentary Trailer Features Comedian Nathan Fielder Questioning Her Husband
The upcoming film "You Can See Everything" shows Fielder in intimate and awkward conversations with the convicted Theranos founder.
The full trailer for the documentary "You Can See Everything" has been released, offering a glimpse into the life of convicted Theranos scammer Elizabeth Holmes. Co-directed by comedian Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the film captures Fielder living with Holmes for a month leading up to her May 2023 imprisonment.
The trailer, set to an eerie soundtrack, features Fielder engaging in candid and sometimes uncomfortable conversations with Holmes and her husband, hotel heir Billy Evans. In one scene, Fielder whispers to Evans, "Weren’t you worried she was, uh, sort of scamming you?" Evans responds by questioning what Holmes would have to gain from him, to which Fielder retorts, "Well, isn’t your family rich?"
During another moment in the trailer, Holmes is seen crying as she tells Fielder, "It took me a really long time to be okay with letting someone see me cry." She also asserts her innocence, stating, "I don’t have anything to hide," despite her conviction.
The documentary's synopsis describes the film as a "mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss," following Holmes as she invites a film crew to document her life 34 days before beginning her prison sentence.
Earlier, a shorter trailer had gained attention online due to a moment where Holmes appeared not to blink while speaking to Fielder.
Elizabeth Holmes, the former CEO of the defunct blood-testing startup Theranos, was convicted in 2022 on four counts of wire fraud and conspiracy for defrauding investors. She was sentenced to 11 years and three months in prison and ordered to pay $452 million in restitution. Holmes is currently serving her sentence at a federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, with eligibility for early release on December 30, 2031.
Prosecutors alleged that Holmes misled investors between 2010 and 2015 by falsely claiming Theranos' technology could detect numerous diseases from a single drop of blood. The Theranos scandal has previously been the subject of an HBO documentary and a Hulu television series.
"You Can See Everything" is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 16.
