Eli Manning 'Selfishly' Hopes Nephew Arch Manning Joins the Jets
The former Giants quarterback expressed a personal desire to have his nephew, Arch Manning, play for the New York Jets.
Eli Manning has a "selfish" reason for wanting his nephew, college quarterback Arch Manning, to be drafted by the New York Jets: proximity. The two-time Super Bowl champion expressed this sentiment on Barstool’s “Pardon My Take” podcast.
Manning, who played his entire NFL career with the New York Giants, stated that if Arch were to join the Jets, it would allow him to attend games more easily and perhaps have dinner with his nephew during the week. "I think it’d be great for him to have some family nearby, so I wouldn’t mind him going to the Jets, being up in New York…that’s just my selfish reasons and I think he could help them,” Eli Manning said.
Arch Manning, currently a quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, is projected to be a high selection in the 2027 NFL Draft. Both Eli and his brother, Peyton Manning, were selected first overall in their respective drafts. Eli was notably traded to the Giants by the Chargers on draft night.
When asked about potentially rooting against his alma mater, Ole Miss, when they play Arch’s Texas team on Oct. 24, Eli Manning affirmed his family loyalty. “You root for family,” he stated. “I’m gonna root for my nephew to win every single game that he plays in, and that’s just the way it is.”
Eli Manning also commented on his role in offering advice to his nephew, indicating he is available when sought out. "If there’s advice he’s looking for, he knows I’m a text away or a call away,” he said, emphasizing he tries not to be overbearing.
