Elderly Driver Kills One, Injures Seven After Crashing Into Jersey Shore Restaurant

One person was killed and seven others were injured when a 93-year-old driver crashed her Buick SUV into a crowded outdoor dining area at Meg's Grill in Lavallette, New Jersey, on Saturday. The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. when the driver, reportedly attempting to park, accelerated into the patio and then through the front of the restaurant.
A 56-year-old woman from Toms River was pronounced dead at the scene, according to News 12 New Jersey. The 93-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. The seven injured individuals were transported to a hospital, though the severity of their conditions was not immediately clear.
Meg's Grill, a popular eatery on the Jersey Shore, was filled with brunch diners at the time of the crash. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, which was later cordoned off with yellow caution tape as investigations began into the cause of the accident.
