Ejections on Opening Kickoff Mar NFL London Game

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. were ejected from Sunday's game in London after engaging in a fight on the opening kickoff. The incident occurred as the Jaguars' Josh Cameron returned the ball 90 yards for an apparent touchdown, though the score was nullified by offsetting penalties.

Officials reviewed the altercation, which involved both players near midfield, before determining that Trotter and Thomas would be disqualified from the contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Jaguars were flagged for holding on the return, while the Eagles were penalized for illegal formation.

Trotter, who was expected to start at linebacker for the Eagles, had recorded 15 tackles in the previous week's game. The Eagles were already contending with a number of key absences, including running back Saquon Barkley and wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, and the ejections of Trotter and Thomas further depleted their roster. The team also recently lost offensive tackle Lane Johnson to retirement and traded center Cam Jurgens.

The Jaguars, who entered the game with a 3-1 record, were seeking to build on recent victories against the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots.
