A peculiar cloud formation observed over Washington D.C. has ignited speculation, with a UFO researcher asserting it to be a cloaked alien craft. The cloud, described as isolated and large, appeared to hang motionless with a smooth, saucer-like shape.
One witness reported on social media that the cloud remained stationary for approximately 20 minutes before vanishing. UFO researcher Scott C. Waring suggested that such formations in the vicinity of the capital are attempts by alien spacecraft to approach the human population by disguising themselves as clouds. Waring posited that Washington D.C., being a hub for U.S. government intelligence workers, would be a prime location for aliens seeking to monitor human minds.
Meteorologists, however, identify these phenomena as natural atmospheric occurrences. Lenticular clouds are smooth, lens-shaped formations that develop in stable air waves, often near mountainous terrain. They form when moist air flows over hills or mountains, creating atmospheric waves. As the air rises and cools at the crest of these waves, water vapor condenses into clouds with a distinct lens shape, which can appear stationary.
Other images from the same day depicted formations identified as pileus clouds. These clouds form as cap-like layers above rapidly developing cumulus or thunderstorm clouds. The rising air from the burgeoning storm pushes moist air upward, causing it to cool and condense into a thin, smooth cap.
Despite these scientific explanations, Waring maintained his assertion that the clouds over Washington D.C. were camouflaged alien craft. He stated on his website, UFO Sightings Daily, that the public's perception of these disk-shaped objects is shifting towards the belief that they are cloaked alien vehicles. Waring also suggested that these craft employ artificial intelligence to detect observation and initiate cloaking procedures.
He further elaborated that a viewer's gaze could trigger the ship's AI, causing it to scan for detection and cloak itself, implying a form of telepathic control by the observer.
Waring has previously shared images of other cloud formations he interpreted as disguised UFOs. In August, he reported a similar sighting above Canmore, Alberta, Canada. The image, captured over a mountainous area, showed a glowing, saucer-shaped formation. Waring claimed that enhancing the contrast of the photograph revealed a classic disk-shaped alien craft concealed within the cloud, which he alleged was deliberately created for camouflage.
He theorized that alien craft utilize clouds as cover to fly closer to the ground and scan human thoughts, a technique he believes has been employed by extraterrestrials for millennia.
However, no concrete evidence has emerged to support the claim that these formations are physical crafts or involve extraterrestrial activity.
