Ed Sheeran's Tour Ticket Prices Plummet Following Opening Act Controversy

Ticket prices for Ed Sheeran's 'Loop Tour' have seen a considerable decrease for remaining North American dates. This shift follows an incident at MetLife Stadium where opening act Macklemore voiced support for Palestine, leading to pressure from NFL owners to have him removed from the tour.

As a result of the controversy, Sheeran's other scheduled opening acts, including Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, and Beoga, have withdrawn from the tour in solidarity. Aaron Rowe stated his decision was in protest against billionaires silencing those who speak out against "Israeli genocide" and the "savage murder of children."

Sheeran addressed the situation on social media, expressing dismay at the conflict and clarifying that Macklemore's removal was a promoter's decision, not his own. He emphasized his personal views on the conflict but stated his preference not to use his professional platform for political statements, as his audience does not expect a political forum at his shows.

Following these events, prices for nine of the ten remaining U.S. 'Loop Tour' shows have dropped. For instance, tickets for the Sept. 19 show in Philadelphia, which previously started at $119, are now available for as low as $88 including fees. The cheapest ticket overall for a remaining U.S. show is $56 for the Oct. 3 concert in Atlanta.

Sheeran's 'Loop Tour' began on June 13 in Glendale, Arizona. The setlist for the tour features 28 songs, performed on both a main and a B-stage, including hits like "Castle on the Hill," "Thinking Out Loud," and "Shape of You." His latest album, "Play," was released on September 12, 2025, featuring 18 tracks that explore a range of sounds from melancholic ballads to upbeat rhymes.

Macklemore is scheduled for one upcoming headlining gig at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, on October 22. Several other major artists, including Harry Styles, Stevie Wonder, and Andrea Bocelli, are also slated for tours in 2026-27.
