Ed Sheeran's Cousin Offers Reconciliation Amid Music Dispute

Jethro Sheeran, cousin of global music star Ed Sheeran, has stated his willingness to reconcile and heal a public family feud, a dispute that has kept the two estranged for nearly a decade.

The conflict reportedly began over a decade ago when Ed Sheeran's music label, Warner Music, threatened legal action against Jethro. The label demanded that Jethro remove Ed's name and image from a remix of "Raise Em Up," a song the cousins had originally collaborated on in 2010. Jethro has accused Ed of orchestrating this action as a personal vendetta.

Jethro, who performs under the stage name Alonestar, claims Ed "Ed stole music from me," and that this situation took "food out of my daughter's mouth." He also expressed confusion and hurt over his cousin's actions, stating that members of their family were also upset and have since distanced themselves from Ed.

Recalling their childhood, Jethro described a close bond forged during holidays at their grandparents' farmhouse in the Republic of Ireland. He remembers teaching a young Ed martial arts and cherishing shared moments, including studio sessions and outings to Nando's. "Ed was my closest cousin on the Sheeran side," Jethro said, noting their shared passion for music.

Despite the ongoing rift, Jethro stated, "I would make up with him, and we could say sorry to each other. I'm more than happy to move on." He believes reconciliation would be beneficial for their family's peace, adding, "I would definitely hug and make up for the sake of our family."

Ed Sheeran, who has achieved global fame and an estimated net worth of $400 million, has acknowledged the public comments from his cousin. During a recent concert in Atlanta, Ed stated, "You might have seen my relative recently on social media...I haven't spoken to this family member in a very long time." He reportedly feels hurt by his family's perceived abandonment during recent controversies.

While Jethro has achieved success as an independent artist with over 100 million streams worldwide, his public disputes with Ed have resurfaced, notably following Ed's decision to drop Macklemore from his tour. Ed attributed this decision to promoters, but Jethro believes Ed was involved, publicly calling him a "coward" and accusing him of putting out a "fake narrative."
