Jethro also voiced his disapproval of his cousin's music, stating he prefers artists like Tupac and Bob Marley.

Jethro Sheeran stated that he feels compelled to speak out to reveal the "type of person Ed really is inside." He alleged that the "Shape of You" singer had to learn to use a loop pedal to create music because he lacked friends to form a band with, referencing Sheeran's openness about experiencing bullying in his youth. This comment comes as Sheeran faces backlash over his tour, which reportedly included Macklemore being removed from a setlist.

The feud between the cousins is said to have escalated over disputes concerning money and rights to songs they collaborated on, including one titled "Raise Em Up." Jethro asserted that he is not envious of his cousin's success, emphasizing that he is satisfied with his own career, which he feels offers him "creative control."
