Earl Spencer Reaffirms King Charles' Alleged 'Monstrous' Remarks About Diana

Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer and brother of the late Princess Diana, has reiterated his claim that King Charles made “monstrous” remarks about his ex-wife shortly after her death in 1997. Spencer told the BBC on Friday that he is “telling the truth” and stands by his assertion that the King made specific, damaging comments.
“I can tell you here and now, those are exactly the words he said,” Spencer stated in the interview. He emphasized his heightened awareness of the conversation, adding, “I was hyper alert to what he was saying and those are precisely the words that he said and I promise that to you now. Genuinely, that is what he said. I don’t hear him saying he didn’t say that.”
Spencer's allegation, first detailed in his forthcoming memoir “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,” suggests that Charles expressed contempt for Diana following her fatal car accident in Paris. According to Spencer, King Charles told him Diana would be forgotten “soon enough.”
When questioned about evidence supporting his claim, Spencer indicated he had shared the monarch’s alleged words with family and friends at the time due to their perceived severity.
