Garrett Moore, the 40-year-old son of the Earl of Drogheda, has married Hope Chilton, the 25-year-old daughter of American billionaire Richard Lockwood Chilton Jr. The wedding took place in a private ceremony at St Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in London.
The marriage follows the end of Moore's engagement to 1970s film star Colleen Camp. At 73, Camp is 33 years Moore's senior and the same age as his mother. Their engagement was announced in 2020, when Moore was 34 and Camp was 67, but the wedding never materialized. Camp later described the proposed marriage as "a joke that went too far," and stated they "never even kissed."
Moore, a society party planner known for organizing high-profile events for celebrities such as Kate Moss and Harry Styles, met Chilton through mutual acquaintances. A source close to the couple described them as a "perfect match," noting Chilton's intelligence and warmth. Both families reportedly expressed delight at the union.
Hope Chilton is one of four children of Richard Chilton, a US investment billionaire with an estimated net worth exceeding $1 billion. Chilton owns Crichel House, a significant Georgian country estate in Dorset, which was reportedly a potential, though ultimately unselected, residence for Prince William and Kate. Richard Chilton is also a vice chairman of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Garrett Moore's father, Derry Moore, is the 89-year-old Earl of Drogheda and a noted photographer. His mother, Alexandra, Countess of Drogheda, is 73 and a former BBC producer. Garrett's elder brother, Ben Moore, is the heir to the earldom.
Chilton, who grew up in the United States and attended the University of North Carolina, has moved to the UK. She has worked in the private members' club sector, including at Robin Birley's New York establishment, Maxime's. Moore has collaborated professionally with Birley, staging events at Birley's exclusive London club, 5 Hertford Street.
Colleen Camp, known for her roles in films such as "Apocalypse Now" and "Clue," was previously married to Paramount Pictures executive John Goldwyn. They divorced in 2001 after 15 years of marriage and have one daughter.
