Lord Charles Courtenay, the 51-year-old Earl of Devon, has married his girlfriend Jemima Hannon, 44, in an intimate ceremony at his ancestral home, Powderham Castle. The wedding took place this summer, less than six months after the couple announced their engagement.

The marriage marks a new chapter for Courtenay, whose previous 18-year marriage to actress Allison Joy 'AJ' Langer, known for her role in 'Baywatch,' ended in separation in 2023.

The news was confirmed by the Powderham estate via an Instagram post, which featured a photograph of the newlyweds. Jemima, now the Countess of Devon, was seen wearing a floral dress while linking arms with Courtenay in a field at the historic estate near Exeter.

Jemima Hannon, a graduate of Bristol University and a former three-day eventer, transitioned to a career as an estate agent after co-founding a business that acquires country houses for clients. She has two children from her previous marriage to racehorse trainer Richard Hannon. Courtenay also has two children from his marriage to Langer.

Their engagement announcement in March indicated a desire to unite their families, with a spokesman stating at the time, "Along with their four children, they are delighted to unite their families and look forward to the many joys ahead."

Courtenay and Langer, who met in Las Vegas in 2005, initially resided in California before moving to Powderham after the death of Courtenay's father, the 18th Earl of Devon, in 2015. Langer had previously spoken about the challenges of adapting to aristocratic life and the customs at Powderham.

"I may have underestimated the realities for myself," Langer had said, describing her husband's transformation from a "hippy, feminist husband in California" to one exhibiting "patriarchal things." She also likened the cultural adjustment to "an anthropological study" and recalled the significant scale of her father-in-law's funeral at the castle.

Meanwhile, plans are underway for renovations at Powderham Castle, with the estate seeking permission to install a new domestic kitchen within the Grade I-listed building. The proposals aim to create a functional kitchen while respecting the castle's historical significance, with no external alterations planned. The application awaits a decision from Teignbridge Council.

Powderham Castle, located near Exeter, has been the Courtenay family's ancestral home for centuries and functions as both a private residence and a tourist attraction.
