Eagles' Saquon Barkley Injured Against Rams; Field Conditions Cited

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley sustained a hamstring injury during the first quarter of the team's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Barkley pulled up with an apparent right hamstring injury and was taken to the locker room for further testing after a stint in the medical tent. The Eagles have listed him as questionable to return.

According to a medical expert cited by OutKick, wet field conditions could have played a role in Barkley's injury. Dr. David Chao, former head physician for the San Diego Chargers, explained that while wet fields can reduce the risk of knee injuries by limiting cleat grip, they can increase the likelihood of soft tissue injuries, such as hamstring strains.

Barkley was seen walking to the sideline under his own power and did not appear to have a significant limp as he headed to the locker room. The injury occurred during an international game played in Brazil, where field conditions have been a subject of discussion among NFL personnel.
