Eagles Add Ex-Giant Evan Neal to Practice Squad

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed former Giants bust Evan Neal to their practice squad, the team announced Thursday. This move comes just days after the offensive lineman was cut from the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad.

Neal, selected seventh overall by the Giants in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama, has not appeared in an NFL game since the 2024 season. During his tenure with the Giants, he played in 29 games, starting 27, but struggled with injuries and inconsistent performance. The team moved him to guard ahead of the 2025 season in an attempt to revive his career, but he did not play a single regular-season snap last year and was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Despite being brought back by the Giants on a one-year deal in March, Neal did not make the team's 53-man roster and was released in August. He later joined the Raiders' practice squad in September but did not play in any games for them.

Neal's addition comes as the Eagles' offensive line has faced significant disruptions. Star offensive lineman Lane Johnson retired earlier this month, and shortly thereafter, the Eagles traded Pro Bowl guard Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens. These departures have created a need for reinforcements on Philadelphia's offensive front.
