E-Bike Cyclist Dies in West London Collision; Police Launch Murder Inquiry
Authorities are investigating a collision between an e-bike and a moped in North Kensington that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old cyclist.
A murder inquiry has been launched after a 24-year-old e-bike cyclist died following a collision with a moped in west London. The incident occurred on North Pole Road, North Kensington, around 1:20 AM BST on Friday.
Emergency services found the cyclist with serious injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. The Metropolitan Police stated that the investigation is in its early stages, but preliminary information suggests the moped was pursuing the e-bike prior to the crash.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John commented that detectives are exploring multiple lines of inquiry, including efforts to identify and locate the rider of the moped. "Our thoughts are with the victim's family at what is a very difficult time," he said. "We have launched a full investigation and are working hard to get answers and establish exactly what happened."
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time and saw either the e-bike or the moped to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.
