Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin Welcome First Child

Barbara Palvin, 32, and Dylan Sprouse, 34, have announced the birth of their daughter.

The couple shared the news via a joint Instagram post on Monday, stating, "We took Labor Day literally this year." In the accompanying photograph, Palvin and Sprouse, both dressed in Los Angeles Dodgers baseball jerseys, were pictured holding their newborn child while watching a ballgame on television.

Palvin, a Victoria's Secret Angel, first revealed her pregnancy in May at the Cannes Film Festival, walking the red carpet with Sprouse while displaying her baby bump. The pair, who married in 2023, documented their pregnancy journey through a series of social media updates over the summer.

Sprouse had previously announced the baby's gender in July on his podcast "Wildmen," revealing that they were expecting a girl and expressing his excitement about becoming a "girl dad." He shared that they had been referring to their unborn daughter as "principessa," which means princess in Italian.

During her pregnancy, Palvin spoke candidly about her experiences, including feelings of guilt for not always enjoying the process as much as she felt others did. She also discussed body image concerns, noting the rapid weight gain and how her clothing no longer fit, which led to periods of distress. Sprouse provided support during these times, reminding her that they were "creating life."

Sprouse also shared his anticipation for fatherhood in August on the podcast "Not Skinny But Not Fat." He noted the unique circumstances of becoming a father to a girl, as he comes from a family of brothers and his father could not offer much guidance on raising a daughter. Despite the "completely unknown" aspects of being a girl dad, he expressed considerable excitement, contrasting it with the "traumatic experience" he observed among his friends who have sons.
