Dylan Dreyer Confirms Divorce Finalization, Mom Moves In to Help
The 'Today' show meteorologist shared details about her personal life, including her mother's support following her separation from Brian Fichera.
Dylan Dreyer, meteorologist for NBC's 'Today' show, has confirmed that her divorce from NBC cameraman Brian Fichera is finalized. Dreyer, 45, referred to herself as "recently divorced" in the latest episode of her podcast, 'Parent Chat.' The couple, who married in 2012, separated in July 2025, and Dreyer filed for divorce eight months later in March 2026.
Dreyer shared that her mother, Linda, has moved in with her to provide assistance following the divorce. "As you know, I'm recently divorced, so my mom has been staying with me for months at a time," she stated on the podcast, explaining that she "needed help" managing her household with their three sons: Calvin, nine, Oliver, six, and Russell, five.
She described the situation as "different" but praised her mother for adhering to her parenting rules. "When you're raising kids and you need help of some kind, sometimes that help is your family," Dreyer said, acknowledging her gratitude for her mother's willingness to leave her own home to assist. "I recognize that all of our situations are different and I'm blessed that my mom is retired and she can stay with me and give up her life back home for a little while." Dreyer admitted she "didn't know what she'd do" without her mother's presence, noting that her mom has taken on tasks like emptying backpacks and packing lunch boxes.
Dreyer and Fichera first announced their separation in July 2025 via a statement on Instagram. In the statement, she expressed gratitude for the support she had received and explained that they had decided to separate but would remain "the closest of friends" and continue to co-parent their sons with "nothing but love and respect."
Sources indicated at the time that the separation was amicable, with both Dreyer and Fichera focusing on their children. The couple met while working at WHDH, NBC's Boston affiliate, and married in Massachusetts. Dreyer previously spoke about reframing their relationship on 'Today,' stating that they were no longer husband and wife and had accepted that certain aspects of their marriage were broken. She added that she felt she could be a "better friend" to Fichera than a wife and emphasized their commitment to ensuring both parents remain actively involved in their children's lives.
