Zaire Wade, 24, son of NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence on Sunday by the Burbank Police Department in California. He was taken into custody and later released after posting a $50,000 bond.

Wade is currently facing three charges: felony domestic violence, criminal threats, and false imprisonment. An emergency order of protection has also been placed.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting a woman screaming around 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Upon arrival, officers found Wade and a woman who had sustained lacerations to her face and body. Paramedics assessed the woman, whose name has not been released, but she did not require hospitalization.

Authorities also recovered a handgun from the residence following the arrest. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office will consider potential charges.

Zaire Wade is a professional basketball player, having played for the Salt Lake City Stars in the G League and professionally overseas in South Africa and Macau. He previously played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon School and transferred to Brewster Academy. He declined several college scholarship offers to pursue a professional career.

Reps for Dwyane Wade and the Burbank Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
