'Dutton Ranch' Season 2 Production Slated to Begin Early 2027

Production for the second season of the Yellowstone spin-off "Dutton Ranch" is slated to begin in early 2027. The series, which stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, was officially renewed by Paramount+ on June 24, ahead of its eighth episode.

While no official release date for "Dutton Ranch" Season 2 has been announced, the production timeline suggests a potential premiere in 2027. Actress Kelly Reilly indicated in July that filming is expected to commence early next year, with the writing room beginning its work shortly before that. "I think we’re going to be very much involved in the room, so the next sort of six months is all about writing it," Reilly told The Hollywood Reporter.

Fans are eager for new episodes following the cliffhangers in the Season 1 finale, which included the kidnapping of Carter by cartel members and the apparent death of Rob-Will. The series has garnered critical acclaim, holding a 90% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Its launch was a significant success for Paramount+, reportedly amassing 12.9 million global viewers within its first week and becoming the platform's biggest Original Series launch.

Benjamin Cavell has been appointed as the new showrunner for "Dutton Ranch" Season 2, taking over from Chad Feehan, who departed the series shortly before its premiere. Despite rumors of Cole Hauser's potential departure due to alleged conflicts with creator Taylor Sheridan, sources indicate that Hauser, who also serves as an executive producer, is not leaving the show.

Meanwhile, another Yellowstone spin-off, "Marshals," began its second season on October 4, 2026, airing new episodes weekly on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. There has been speculation about a potential crossover between "Dutton Ranch" and "Marshals," with actors Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly expressing openness to the idea, though no concrete plans have been confirmed.

"Dutton Ranch" Season 1 is available for streaming on Paramount+. Subscription plans include an Essential tier for $8.99 per month and a Premium tier for $13.99 per month. A seven-day free trial is available for the Premium plan. Additionally, Paramount+ can be accessed through Amazon Prime Video with a free trial, and the Paramount Network is included in various live TV streaming packages such as Philo, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, DIRECTV, and Sling TV.
