‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 2 Production Slated for Early 2027, No Official Release Date Yet

Production for the second season of the "Yellowstone" spin-off "Dutton Ranch" is anticipated to commence in early 2027, though an official release date has not yet been announced. The series, which stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, was officially renewed by Paramount+ on June 24, ahead of its eighth episode.

While "Dutton Ranch" concluded its first season on July 3, 2026, with episode 9, "El Padrino," viewers are awaiting details for the sophomore season. The freshman season garnered a Certified Fresh 90% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes and set a record for Paramount+ as the biggest Original Series launch, attracting 12.9 million global viewers within seven days of its premiere. It also achieved 2.9 million total viewers during its initial two-episode debut on Paramount Network, marking the largest cable series premiere since 2023.

Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, indicated in July that the writing room for Season 2 would begin soon, with filming slated for early 2027. This timeline suggests a potential premiere in 2027, pending production schedules.

Cast and Creative Team

Despite some fan speculation fueled by rumors of a feud between Cole Hauser and creator Taylor Sheridan, Hauser is expected to continue his role as Rip Wheeler. "Dutton Ranch" was developed to continue the narratives of Beth, Rip, and Carter, and Hauser also serves as an executive producer on the series.

However, the show will have a new showrunner for its second season, with Benjamin Cavell taking over. Chad Feehan, who served as showrunner for the first season, departed the series shortly before its premiere.

Related Series and Potential Crossovers

Another "Yellowstone" spin-off, "Marshals," starring Luke Grimes, is set to premiere its second season on Sunday, October 4, 2026, on CBS and Paramount+. While a crossover between "Dutton Ranch" and "Marshals" has not been confirmed, Luke Grimes has not ruled out the possibility of a future collaboration. Grimes has spoken about the potential for his character, Kayce Dutton, to appear in "Marshals" or for a "Dutton Ranch" crossover, noting the close familial ties between the characters.

"Dutton Ranch" Season 1 is available for streaming on Paramount+. The platform offers two subscription tiers: Essential, which is ad-supported, and Premium, which is ad-free and includes Showtime titles and live CBS programming. A seven-day free trial is available for the Premium plan.
