'Dutton Ranch' Season 2 Production Slated for Early 2027
Paramount+ has officially renewed the Yellowstone spin-off for a second season, with new episodes expected in 2027.
Paramount+ has officially renewed the popular Yellowstone spin-off "Dutton Ranch" for a second season, with production anticipated to begin in early 2027. While a specific release date for Season 2 has not yet been announced, the renewal comes after a highly successful freshman season.
The series, which stars Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, garnered significant viewership following its premiere. According to a Paramount+ press release, the show achieved 12.9 million global viewers within the first seven days of its release, marking the biggest original series launch in the platform's history. It also drew 2.9 million total viewers during its two-episode debut on Paramount Network and was the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023.
"Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity," stated Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios. "We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season 2."
Despite recent rumors about Cole Hauser's potential departure, sources confirm that the actor is expected to continue his role as Rip Wheeler in the upcoming season. Hauser also serves as an executive producer on the series.
However, the show will see a change in its leadership. Benjamin Cavell has joined as the new showrunner for Season 2, succeeding Chad Feehan, who departed the series shortly before its Season 1 premiere.
Meanwhile, another Yellowstone spin-off, "Marshals," is currently airing its second season. "Marshals" Season 2, Episode 4 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS and will be available for streaming on Paramount+.
Discussions about a potential crossover between "Dutton Ranch" and "Marshals" have been ongoing. While Luke Grimes, who stars as Kayce Dutton, has expressed interest in seeing his character interact with Beth and Rip, and "Marshals" star Ash Santos also indicated openness to a crossover, no concrete plans have been confirmed.
Fans looking to catch up on "Dutton Ranch" can stream Season 1 on Paramount+. The service offers two subscription tiers: Essential for $8.99 per month and Premium for $13.99 per month. A seven-day free trial is available for the Premium plan, which can also be accessed through Amazon Prime Video.
