‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 2 Filming Expected Early 2027, Release Date Uncertain

Production on the second season of the popular Yellowstone spin-off, “Dutton Ranch,” is anticipated to commence in early 2027. While the renewal for a second season was officially confirmed by Paramount+ in June 2026, ahead of the eighth episode of the inaugural season, an exact release date for new episodes has not yet been set.

Kelly Reilly, who stars as Beth Dutton, indicated in July 2026 that the writing room for the upcoming season would begin shortly, with filming scheduled to start in early 2027. This timeline suggests a potential premiere in 2027, though this remains speculative.

The series has garnered critical acclaim, boasting a 90% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Its strong performance post-premiere, with 12.9 million global viewers in its first week, marked the largest original series launch in Paramount+ history. The show also delivered 2.9 million total viewers for its debut on Paramount Network and was the most-watched cable entertainment telecast among adults 18-49 and total viewers for its premiere.

Benjamin Cavell has been appointed as the new showrunner for "Dutton Ranch" Season 2. He joins the team following the departure of Season 1 showrunner Chad Feehan, who left the series shortly before its premiere.

Despite rumors of a feud between star Cole Hauser and creator Taylor Sheridan, Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, is expected to continue in his role. Hauser also serves as an executive producer on the series.

While "Dutton Ranch" navigizes its upcoming season, another Yellowstone spin-off, "Marshals," premiered its second season on October 4, 2026, airing Sundays on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. New episodes of "Marshals" are available for next-day streaming.

Discussions regarding a potential crossover episode between "Dutton Ranch" and "Marshals" have been ongoing. Luke Grimes, who stars in "Marshals," has expressed openness to the idea, noting the close relationship between his character, Kayce Dutton, and his sister Beth. "It's not out of the question that we might have some sort of crossover at some point," Grimes told TV Insider. "Beth’s basically Kayce’s only living family member other than Tate. It would make sense that down the line we’d at least talk."

Ash Santos, a star of "Marshals," and Reilly and Hauser have also voiced enthusiasm for a potential crossover. The first season of "Dutton Ranch" is available for streaming on Paramount+. Subscribers can access the service through its Essential and Premium plans, with a seven-day free trial available for the Premium plan when added to a Prime Video account.
