The season finale of the Yellowstone spin-off, "Dutton Ranch," titled "El Padrino," brought escalating danger and revealed shocking secrets, culminating in a violent showdown and the deaths of several characters.

The episode picked up with Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler intercepting a cattle shipment suspected to be part of an illegal operation by the Jackson family, which involved mixing ranching with drug trafficking. Their investigation revealed that the Jacksons were using cattle to smuggle fentanyl, with one shipment containing 3.5 kilos valued at $2 million.

Beulah, who had been running drugs for nearly 15 years, confessed to Everett that her involvement began after a traumatic experience in her youth. She admitted that her father blamed Mariano, a ranch hand, for the situation, leading to Mariano taking the heat and disappearing to Mexico, while his wife was killed at the border.

Amidst the unfolding drug operation, personal dramas also played out. Oreana discovered she was pregnant, and she and Carter decided to leave Rio Paloma to start a new life together. However, their plans were interrupted when Mariano's men kidnapped Carter.

A Violent Climax

The conflict between the Duttons and the Jacksons escalated when Mariano, alerted to the stolen drugs, arrived in Rio Paloma. He ordered Beulah to reinstate her son Joaquin as successor and send Beth and Rip away, threatening to take matters into his own hands. This led to a violent confrontation at the Dutton Ranch, where all but one of Mariano's men were killed by Beth, Rip, and their allies. The surviving attacker was interrogated by Rip.

Meanwhile, Rob-Will Jackson, after a conversation with his daughter Oreana, seemingly chose to stay and defend his home against the "wolves." He was killed shortly after Oreana went to pack, with evidence pointing to his son, Kino, as the perpetrator.

The season concluded with Mariano calling Beth to inform her he had Carter. The season finale left viewers with a cliffhanger, setting the stage for a second season to resolve the fate of Carter and the ongoing conflict.
