Dunkin' x L.L.Bean Coffee Sweater Causes Morning Frenzy
The limited-edition collaboration sold out quickly, leaving many customers searching for the cozy accessory.
Dunkin' and L.L.Bean have launched their first collaborative merchandise, a limited-edition miniature sweater designed to fit a coffee cup. The item, released on the first day of fall, quickly caused a stir, with reports of customers lining up early and the sweaters selling out by mid-morning.
Social media posts highlighted the demand, with one TikTok user sharing their 5 a.m. wake-up call to secure the "Dunkin' x L.L.Bean coffee sweater collab." Another user noted visiting three Dunkin' locations in an effort to find the accessory.
Nick Wilkoff, chief marketing officer at L.L.Bean, stated that the collaboration aimed to celebrate the brands' shared New England heritage and create a "familiar and fun" item. The mini coffee sleeve features L.L.Bean's signature fisherman sweater pattern, reinterpreted in Dunkin's signature pink and orange colors.
While the coffee cup sweaters were offered for free, customers interested in larger versions can purchase an L.L.Bean x Dunkin' sweater for $79.95 starting September 29, which is National Coffee Day. Additional merchandise includes a pink-and-orange L.L.Bean Boat & Tote bag for $59.95 and a coffee-sized tote for $24.95, available exclusively on the Dunkin' website.
Customers in Boston were offered an early opportunity to purchase the merchandise on September 27 at the L.L.Bean Seaport location, with free Munchkins and coffee also provided. For those who missed the sweater, Dunkin' is offering a complimentary medium regular hot or iced coffee with any purchase on September 29.
