Dundee FC Mourns Loss of 'Dazzling' Midfielder Giorgi Nemsadze
The Georgian football legend, a Hall of Fame inductee, passed away at the age of 54.
Dundee Football Club has announced the death of former midfielder Giorgi Nemsadze at the age of 54. The Georgian international, known for his "dazzling skill," made a significant impact during his three-and-a-half-year tenure with the club.
Nemsadze played 96 games for Dundee between 2000 and 2003, scoring 17 goals and earning 69 caps for his country during his time at the club. His contributions were recognized in April 2010 when he was inducted into Dundee's Hall of Fame, receiving the international award and reflecting on the city as his "second home."
He last appeared in a Dundee jersey in 2015 during Julian Speroni's testimonial match. The club extended its deepest condolences to Nemsadze's friends and family.
Beyond his time in Scotland, Nemsadze also played for clubs such as Trabzonspor, Grasshoppers, and Reggiana. He had multiple spells with his hometown team, Dinamo Tbilisi, and later managed the club for five months during the 2020-21 season.
