Duncan Bannatyne Names Superyacht After Wife Nigora
The Scottish millionaire Duncan Bannatyne has purchased a luxury yacht named 'Nigora' after his wife, and the vessel is available for private hire.
Scots tycoon Duncan Bannatyne, 77, has acquired a luxury superyacht named 'Nigora' in a gesture of affection for his wife. The couple recently spent time cruising the Italian coast aboard the vessel, named after Nigora Whitehorn, whom Bannatyne met in 2014 at a dental surgery where she worked.
The couple, along with Nigora’s mother and friends, were seen sailing in the Ligurian Sea and visiting the town of Portovenere. Photos shared online by Mrs. Bannatyne document their time on the yacht, with the name 'Nigora' prominently displayed on the stern and embroidered on interior items.
The 28-meter, three-deck Sunseeker, built in 2025, is also available for private charter. Rates range from £67,000 to £74,000 per week during the winter months when it is berthed in the Bahamas, and from £81,000 to £89,000 per week in the summer when it is based in Monaco. The yacht features a master suite and five guest cabins, designed for both Caribbean island-hopping and Mediterranean cruising.
Bannatyne, who gained fame as a sharp-witted investor on the television show 'Dragons' Den,' built his fortune through a series of businesses, including care homes, nurseries, and gyms. Despite his past image as a hard-nosed businessman, he has embraced a more relaxed lifestyle since marrying Whitehorn, who is originally from Uzbekistan.
Mrs. Bannatyne, 46, has actively promoted the yacht's charter business on social media. The interior of the yacht is described as calm and contemporary, with a main salon that opens to a fold-down balcony, offering a space for relaxation. The couple has also been involved in charitable work, supporting Operation Smile, an organization that provides surgery for children with facial deformities.
