Multiple students from Duke University's Physician Assistant Program have accused Angel Victoria Murdock, a former reality television personality and social media influencer, of fabricating her enrollment and graduation from the program. Murdock, 26, who previously appeared on Netflix's "Temptation Island," had documented her supposed journey as a Duke PA student for two years on platforms like TikTok, amassing over 40,000 followers.
Allegations Emerge
The accusations gained traction after a graduate, who provided proof of their student status, posted on Reddit alleging Murdock was never a student at the university. One student told the Daily Mail that they initially found it odd they had never seen Murdock on campus, especially midway through the program. When a classmate attempted to interact with Murdock on social media, they were reportedly blocked, and Murdock subsequently reduced her social media activity.
Classmates' Accounts
Kiera Lee, a recent graduate and the 2026 class historian, corroborated these claims. She stated that the Duke PA program is small, with approximately 90 students per class, making it unlikely for a student to go unnoticed. As class historian, Lee was responsible for maintaining records and social media, and she asserted that she knew all her classmates by name and had never encountered Murdock. Another student shared that Murdock's email address was not found on the program's electronic mailing list.
Discrepancies in Evidence
Students have pointed to several inconsistencies in Murdock's social media posts. One alleged that a PA student badge displayed in a video was not authentic. Furthermore, the master's hood in Murdock's graduation photos was reportedly the wrong color, and her graduation cap lacked the specific emblem used by the university. Lee also claimed that Murdock posted content mirroring her own updates about clinical rotations, which she noted do not typically align as students are on different rotations.
The Duke PA program spans 24 consecutive months, divided into preclinical studies and 10 clinical rotations. Murdock recently shared graduation photos on social media, depicting herself in a graduation sash on Duke's campus and announcing the completion of her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies. She also posted photos in scrubs outside the Duke PA school.
In a video posted two years ago, Murdock, wearing scrubs and long acrylic nails, mentioned she was on her way to work. Students noted that PAs are often not permitted to wear long nails during clinical rotations or labs. In another video from last year, she appeared to be studying with notes on an iPad and laptop before leaving for school.
Duke University provided a statement to the Daily Mail indicating they could not confirm or deny student attendance without written permission. Following the spread of the allegations, Murdock reportedly deleted her Instagram account and made her TikTok account private.
Lee expressed that she did not want her graduating class to be remembered for this scandal, emphasizing their charitable contributions.
