A driver in Siskiyou County, California, miraculously survived a 600-foot plunge down a cliff last week, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred along State Route 263, a road known for its steep cliffs and dramatic drop-offs.

The white pickup truck veered off the roadway and tumbled down the mountainside, coming to rest at the base of the cliff. Officials stated the driver was found to be allegedly impaired at the scene and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Photos released by the CHP show the truck severely damaged, with debris scattered across the rocky terrain. The agency did not immediately release the driver's identity or details regarding injuries.
