New footage released from the Folly Beach, South Carolina, police station shows Jamie Lee Komoroski, the driver responsible for the death of a bride on her wedding night, audibly lamenting her arrest and questioning the evidence against her.
Komoroski, 27, was convicted of killing bride Samantha Hutchinson, 34, and seriously injuring her husband, Aric Hutchinson, 36, and two guests. The incident occurred on April 28, 2023, when Komoroski, after bar-hopping, drove her rented Toyota Camry into a golf cart carrying the wedding party. At the time, she was traveling 65 mph in a 25 mph zone and had a blood alcohol content triple the legal limit.
In the newly surfaced video, Komoroski is seen in a police station wearing a sports bra, an open flannel shirt, and torn jeans, with her hands cuffed behind her back. She can be heard crying and asking officers why she cannot call her father, stating, "I just wanna like, get this over with and go home."
When denied the ability to make a phone call, Komoroski questioned the basis for her arrest. "Well, what did I do?" she asked. "Nobody has any proof of anything that I did, so give me the right to call my dad."
Komoroski then directly addressed a camera mounted on the wall, saying, "Oh, hi camera, yeah I'm crying because he's not letting me call my f--king father, even though they haven't proven s--t and don't have any right for me not to be able to contact my family or anyone that I want to, so yeah, hello, I'm crying." She continued, mockingly remarking, "Ooh, I'm being just a little baby."
Komoroski ultimately pleaded guilty to felony DUI, two counts of DUI causing great bodily injury or death, and reckless homicide. She was sentenced to 25 years in prison for her actions.
