A drunk driver who overturned her car outside a pub, narrowly missing a man's head, has been given a suspended jail sentence. Sharon Gall, 32, was captured on camera reversing her Volkswagen Golf at high speed outside the Cock Inn in Bartley Green, Birmingham, on February 17, 2024. The vehicle collided with another car, causing it to flip over.

Birmingham Crown Court heard that the incident occurred after Gall was involved in an altercation at the pub and asked to leave. Video footage shows onlookers surrounding her vehicle moments before she reversed erratically. A man standing nearby was thrown to the ground by the impact, with Gall's car missing his head by inches.

The man who was nearly struck was not injured, according to court reports. Police arrested Gall at the scene. She was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where a blood sample revealed an alcohol level of 171 milligrammes per 100 millilitres of blood, more than double the legal limit of 80 milligrammes.
