A dispute over noise levels on a cruise ship escalated into an alleged assault, leading to the arrest of a couple on multiple charges. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey announced Sunday that Gannon Jacox and Brooklyn Hicks were taken into custody at Port Canaveral after the incident.

According to Ivey, the couple was allegedly intoxicated when a family in the adjacent cabin requested they quiet down. Hicks reportedly confronted the family, with Jacox recording the interaction on his cellphone and encouraging her to engage in a physical altercation. The situation culminated when the couple allegedly forced their way into the victims' cabin, which contained a 9-year-old child.

During the ensuing fight, Jacox is accused of assaulting all three individuals in the cabin, including the child, while Hicks was reportedly swinging indiscriminately. The sheriff’s office stated that none of the victims sustained serious injuries.

Hicks faces charges of felony burglary with battery and misdemeanor battery. She was held on a $6,000 bond. Jacox is charged with two counts of burglary with assault, child abuse without great bodily harm, and misdemeanor battery. His bond was set at $31,000.

Sheriff Ivey commented on the incident, stating, "if you can't hold your liquor, then you definitely shouldn't be out in public causing a scene like this and injuring random people, including a child!" He further jested about the couple's upcoming confinement, suggesting they would experience "communal showers, no drink packages and, of course, no excursions."
